This beautiful botanical garden with sea views is considered to be one of the most important ones on the Mediterranean due to the mixture of local plant species and trees and plants from all the continents.
Covering 17 hectares, it brings together more than a thousand botanical species from all over the world (10 hectares belong to the municipal term of Palafrugell and the other 7 to Mont-Ras). Beautiful sculptures by national and international artists can be found in this unique natural area shaped by the hand of man. The garden descends from Cap Roig Castle to the sea by means of terraced parks: the Terrasses de les Monges (the Nuns' Terraces), Terrassa del Bassin (the Bassin Terrace), Jardí dels Enamorats (the Lovers' Garden) connected by the Escala dels Xiprers (the Cypress Tree Steps). In the area nearest the sea, you will find the Jardí de la Primavera (Spring Garden), the Jardí de Cactus (Cactus Garden) and the Passeig dels Geranis (Geranium Way) with spectacular flowers.
One of the most prestigious summer music festivals is held in its open-air auditorium, the Cap Roig Festival which attracts international artists.
